Stob Coire Sgriodain and Chno Dearg, Sat 6 June 2026

A team of 8 and a doggo met at Fersit car park in Glen Spean to head to 2 Munro summits - Stob Coire Sgriodain and Chno Dearg. After quick introduction and discussion of the planed route we set off on the track, we passed the houses and crossed river and railway bridges.

Stuart was leading the group up the Stob which was boggy at first and then rocky. We stopped for a quick lunch admiring the view across to the Easains before reaching rocky nose of Stob, while Miriam and Clara went slowly ahead. The summit has magnificent views and a cairn where we stopped shortly to take some shots. It was Agnes s No 40 and Karolina's No 90. It was windy so we didn't linger and cought up with the girls on the rocky way down. We carried on the track then up the mossy slopes of Chno Dearg. We reached the clag before reaching the summit. There was no views so after short break and putting extra leyers we followed Jan navigating across the moors.Everyone enjoyed spongy moss under their feet, a happy day for our knees. Graham remembered to use his poles and was glad that the weather turned out better than the forecast. After crossing a few burns we reached the path and retraced our steps to returned to Fersit. Despite the busy carpark we haven't met anyone on our route except a couple of runners in the carpark at the end. A short and enjoyable day.

Taking part: Agnes, Karolina, Graham (and Skye the dog), Jan, May; and prospective members Stuart, Mirjam, and Clara.
